Windows SmartScreen / antivirus may flag the install — here's why
typwrtr is brand-new and not yet code-signed (signing cert: in progress). Windows Defender SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC" — click More info → Run anyway. Some AVs (McAfee, Norton) may quarantine the installer because it uses a low-level keyboard hook for push-to-talk — the same Windows API that real keyloggers use. typwrtr only watches for Caps Lock; nothing else is captured. If your AV blocks it, restore from quarantine and we recommend reporting the false positive to your vendor.
macOS users: right-click the .dmg → Open → "Open anyway" if Gatekeeper warns. Apple Developer ID code-signing is on the roadmap.

What happens to my audio?
Forwarded to the transcription provider, text returned, audio discarded. We log only request id, clip duration, and an account hash. Full privacy page →
Mac or Linux?
Windows-first. macOS + Linux on the roadmap; ship after the Windows install proves out.
Does it work offline?
No — Pro is cloud-only because that's how we deliver Hinglish quality and 22 Indic languages. Online connection required for dictation.
How does pricing work?
Subscription lives inside the app. Sign in with Google, click Upgrade in the Plans tab, complete checkout via Dodo Payments (UPI / RuPay / cards).
